July 9th and every Sunday evening in July, 7-8:30 pm
You’ve been listening to the stories of the Core Team about why being part of an open and affirming congregation is important to them. And some of you have had one on one conversations-part of which meets the goal of folx in our church just getting to know one another better, around anything-and sometimes that includes gender and sexuality. Now, here is another opportunity to know and be known in this place. We are hosting a Storytelling Workshop with pastor and Moth Radio storyteller Andrea Roske Metcalf. (Wanna watch one?)
The first night, you’ll learn a bunch about crafting a story. Then you’ll go home and work on that story. Then, the next two weeks, some members of the group will tell their stories in order to “workshop” them, getting feedback from the group and Andrea to find ways to craft the story in the best ways. The final night is a Storytelling night when you’ll get to hear the finished stories of at least some people (telling your story is not required!) Your presence is requested at each of the nights, (July 9, 16, 23, 30) and you’ll learn from it all–about storytelling and about each other. And, the storytelling event on July 30th is open for anyone to come to.
