Job Title: Digital Technology Director

Role Summary:

  • Direct Spirit Garage’s online communication and web presence 
  • Direct Spirit Garage’s worship livestream and audio-visuals for worship and other events as needed

 

Reports to: Spirit Garage Pastor

 

Hours/Salary:

15hrs per week/$25-30 per hr DOE (part-time, FLSA non-exempt position) 

Sunday mornings required, remaining hours can be a mix of in-person and remote

 

Responsibilities:

Worship Services and Special Events

  • Create slides and videos for each service/event/meeting
  • Running and/or supervising all technical aspects including filming, live streaming and recording services and events
  • Work cohesively and collaborate effectively with Spirit Garage staff and volunteers

 

Communications

  • Maintain/update the Spirit Garage website and social media accounts
  • Draft and schedule social media messages which align with Spirit Garage’s voice and help to meet outreach objectives
  • Engage/communicate effectively, as needed, with all approved parties needing technical help related to church work
  • Coordinate and train technical volunteers, develop training materials
  • Manage communications and advertising
  • Develop QR codes and forms as needed 
  • Evaluate and report on impact and reach of online digital outreach efforts, whether that be streaming, social media posts or the website

 

Technology/Video

  • Subject matter expert of all systems used by Spirit Garage
  • Assist in creating a video brand strategy
  • Video and audio content creation/collaboration and production for web and social media
  • Manage and oversee/or collaborate on all technical aspects of video recording and editing 
  • Collaborate on graphics/motion graphics, as needed
  • Maintain necessary equipment and materials

 

Other

  • Attend required meetings/trainings
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualities, Skills and Experience:

  • Reflective of Spirit Garage values
  • Expertise in various technology systems and platforms
  • Familiarity with recording and editing technologies
  • Familiarity with streaming services
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and management of equipment repair
  • Experience writing, updating, and posting on various social media platforms
  • Ability to proofread and edit copy to check for errors and ease of reading
  • Keen focus on creative problem solving, organizational skills and a  consistent ability to meet deadlines
  • Clear and effective communication (verbal and written) with staff,  church leaders, congregation, volunteers, and other work contacts
