Spirit Garage is turning 25!
Can you believe it? It was 25 years ago- October of 1997 when the first people walked into a new place called Spirit Garage that was capturing a whole new way of being “church.”
In that time, a host of leaders, and thousands of others have walked through the doors for a moment, a reason, a season or a lifetime.
At Spirit Garage in the last 25 years…
People have found themselves growing in faith once again.
People have heard new sounds in church, and had new experiences.
People have found their way to new friendships
People have developed leadership skills
People have learned to be in a band
People have been baptized
People have been loved
People have been blessed and sent out on new roads.
In this place, God’s grace has been shared with a group of people, ever-changing but I think always fitting the words we use to describe ourselves these days: Creative, Quirky and Curious.
As we move into the next years of our life together, we continue to discover what God has in store for us.
What new people will find us?
What will we learn about ourselves?
What new ways of being creative and quirky can we find?
What is God up to in our church, in our city, and in this world?
Be curious about that. God us up to something, and whatever it is, I’d like to be a part of it. But we’re still young…25! In people-years our Pre-frontal cortex brain has just completed it’s growth! We have much to be proud of in our past, but a whole future ahead. Buckle up!
